I am obsessed with my two week old wedges from Zara. So obsessed that I could even wear them in my sleep. They are probably the cheapest most-beautiful thing my closet has ever seen. Well, my London closet. My Athens closet has seen an awful lot of stuff. I still can't get over the fact that I didn't bring some of my favourite summer essentials three weeks ago when I returned from my holidays. But hey, how was I ever supposed to imagine that there would be an actual warm, sunny day in London? Twenty-two degrees people! Anyway, back to the wedges. Is it just me or does everybody get an Alaia vibe from them? They are big, chunky and so eye-catching it almost makes you feel bad. I said almost. Because trust me, there's nothing more exciting than having people tell you how beautiful your shoes are (except for the moment you realise it yourself when you try them on the first time). It happened to me today while I was saturday shopping and I felt rewarded for not wanting to ever take them off. I love seeing people's faces when they expect you to say that your shoes are vintage/ impossible to find/ bought in some strange shop on a stranded island but you finally utter these four magic words: "bought on the high street". And you can wear them with anything, literally. Such a yummy piece. Like black candy.
